Structure and Principle of Disc Type Electromagnetic Brake<\/h2>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 25px; padding: 0 10px;\">\n<p style=\"text-indent: 2em;\">A disc type electromagnetic brake is an appliance that converts electromagnetic force into mechanical braking torque, thereby causing the motor to stop quickly after a power failure, as shown in figure 19-10. Components<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Disc type electromagnetic brake consists of electromagnet, spring, brake pads (brake friction pads), electromagnet disc and so on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"background: #f9f9f9; padding: 20px; border-radius: 8px; border-top: 4px solid #1f365c;\">\n<h4 style=\"color: #1f365c; margin-top: 0;\">2. Principles of operation<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14px;\">When working, the electromagnet is energized, attracting the electromagnet disc to overcome the spring force to open the brake, and the motor runs. When stopping, the electromagnet is de-energized and released, and the spring presses the electromagnet disc and brake friction plate to brake.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section style=\"margin-bottom: 60px;\">\n<h2 style=\"background: #1f365c; color: #fff; padding: 12px 25px; border-left: 10px solid #ef9308; border-radius: 4px; font-size: 22px;\">Measurement and Adjustment of Electromagnetic Brake Clearance<\/h2>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 25px; padding: 0 10px;\">\n<h3 style=\"color: #1f365c; border-bottom: 2px solid #eee; padding-bottom: 8px;\">1. Measurement of gaps<\/h3>\n<div style=\"background: #eef2f7; padding: 25px; border-radius: 12px; margin-bottom: 35px;\">\n<p><strong>(1) Scope of the criteria:<\/strong>The permissible clearance of the electromagnetic brake should be <strong>0.6~2mm<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) Coil power-off status:<\/strong>Measure the gap between the solenoid disk and the end face of the solenoid core.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) Coil energized state:<\/strong>Measure the clearance between the brake friction pads and the solenoid disk and both sides of the rear end cap.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) Measurement methods:<\/strong>Measuring point is generally selected through the brake lifting screw as the measuring hole, with a plug ruler to measure separately, and then take the average value.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"color: #1f365c; border-bottom: 2px solid #eee; padding-bottom: 8px;\">2. Gap adjustment<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\">After measuring in the above manner, the gap is adjusted based on the measurement results in the following manner:<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-direction: column; gap: 15px;\">\n<div style=\"background: #fff; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 20px; border-radius: 8px; border-left: 6px solid #1f365c;\"><strong>(1) Electromagnet disk and core end face gap adjustment:<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is adjusted by the adjusting screw on the solenoid disk. Tightening the adjusting screws inwards reduces the gap, i.e. reduces the friction; conversely, it increases the friction.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background: #fff; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 20px; border-radius: 8px; border-left: 6px solid #1f365c;\"><strong>(2) Adjustment of clearance between friction plate and disc and both sides of rear end cap:<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is adjusted by the adjusting screw on the end face of the solenoid core. Tightening the adjusting screw inward is to reduce the gap, i.e., to increase the friction; conversely, to reduce the friction.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background: #fff; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 20px; border-radius: 8px; border-left: 6px solid #1f365c;\"><strong>(3) Handling of brakes that won't open:<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen the brake does not open, loosen the screws on the end face of the disc electromagnetic brake to increase the gap between the two sides of the friction pads.
