It is not only suitable for teaching the course of “Handicraft” in higher vocational colleges and universities, but also can be used as a training base for sailors in training and vocational skill appraisal of sailors on sea-going vessels. There are all kinds of ship's rigging, brown rope, steel wire rope, chemical fiber rope and various tools in the room, which can undertake various kinds of knots, plaiting, three-strand rope splicing, eight-strand cable splicing, steel wire rope splicing, high-altitude and outboard work, skimming operation, hull maintenance, rigging and skidding set of ropes, etc. The practical training can reach the assessment requirements of the STCW Convention and the Maritime Safety Administration on the "seagoing seafarer's qualification examination and assessment program" for the manual skills of seafarers. The training will be able to meet the assessment requirements of STCW Convention and the Maritime Safety Administration's "Seafarer's Competency Examination and Assessment Program".
