[Introduction]
To align with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Seafarer Training in the People's Republic of China and respond to national policies strongly supporting the development of new energy vessels, Erun Technology has independently developed a ship electric propulsion system and successfully applied it in the field of seafarer training. This system not only fully meets current regulatory requirements but also closely aligns with actual ship operation needs. It helps cultivate highly qualified electronic and electrical officers, enabling the practical application of knowledge and injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the shipping industry.
Technological Innovation: Meeting Training Needs and Aligning with Practical Shipboard Applications
Modern electric propulsion technology for ships is a key means to enhance shipping efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and lower emissions. The ship electric propulsion system developed by Erun Technology integrates core equipment including generator sets, distribution panels, propulsion control consoles, variable frequency drives, and electric thrusters. It employs a blended approach combining virtual and physical elements to create a training environment where real and simulated operations complement each other.
The system achieves functional replication of the actual ship's electric propulsion system through high-precision simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Its centralized control interface software encompasses functional modules including data display, equipment details, fault alarms, and data storage/query, providing trainees with a comprehensive learning experience. Trainees can not only familiarize themselves with the operational procedures of the ship's propulsion system but also perform multiple practical training operations such as system startup and shutdown, power distribution, and fault troubleshooting, significantly enhancing their practical operational skills and technical proficiency.
High-Efficiency Application: Empowering Training Institutions to Cultivate Senior Seafarers
The Ship Electric Propulsion Training System supports multiple experiments and teaching projects, including:
- Start-up and Shutdown Testing of Shipboard Electric Propulsion Systems;
- Parallel Operation of Generator Sets and Inverter Parallel Operation Experiment;
- Power Regulation and Propulsion Motor Control Experiment;
- System maintenance and troubleshooting operations.
Additionally, the system supports customizable fault simulation capabilities. Through button inputs or software settings, it can replicate potential fault scenarios encountered during actual vessel operations. This helps trainees master emergency response skills, laying a solid foundation for safe ship operations.

Design of a Teaching Vessel's Electric Propulsion System Based on Special-Case Reproduction
A customized fault simulation device will be configured to enable partial fault reproduction during normal system operation. This can be achieved by pressing buttons or adjusting software settings on the device to simulate specific system faults. Additionally, this fault simulation device incorporates system monitoring and display capabilities, though it operates independently from the monitoring system. Key parameters such as voltage and current collected by the device can be adjusted via software settings for transformation ratios or corresponding coefficients. It will also trigger corresponding alarm displays or protective actions based on predefined alarm or protection principles.
