The College is the only high-level school in Sichuan province in the transport sector and is located in the Winjiang district of Chengdu. Formerly the Sichuan Provincial School of Transport, founded in 1952, with five alternative names and four relocations, in 1992 was accredited as a provincial high-priority specialized secondary school; in 1999 was accredited as a national high-priority secondary school; in 2001 the Sichuan People's Government approved the independent upgrading of the Sichuan Institute of Transport Technology; in 2004 it became the first Sichuan Province to receive a “Assessment of the Level of Training of Senior Professionals in the Ministry of Education” and a high-level post; in 2007 the College was established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as a national model higher vocational institute; in 2010 it was successfully adopted as a national model higher vocational school; and in 2011 it was awarded the “National Civilization Unit”。
At present, the College comprises 1,033 acres of land, 320,000 square metres of construction, and more than 13,000 full-time senior students; there are 11 teaching departments, including the Department of Roads and Bridges, the Department of Automotive Engineering, the Department of Transport Engineering, the Department of Shipping Engineering, the Department of Information Engineering, the Department of Construction Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Economic Management, the Department of Humanities and Arts, the Department of Public Studies Teaching and the Department of the Teaching of the Theory of Ideology and Political Science, with more than 40 specializations. The library has a collection of 1.2 million books, a total of $162 million in teaching equipment and $430 million in fixed assets. There are currently more than 700 teaching staff, including 23 senior and professional technical staff, 121 associate professors and Ph.D. students, 4 provincial teaching teams, 1 teacher for the “Multiary Plan” in the Central Group, 1 provincial academic leader, 4 provincial teaching staff, 2 provincial academic reserve leaders, and more than 300 enterprise *** teacher resources。
In recent years, the College has fully implemented its scientific development perspective, structured around the overall goal of creating a modern integrated, safe and efficient transport system throughout the province, engaged in innovative thinking, built on international advanced teaching concepts, vigorously promoted the reform of the teaching and teaching of higher vocational education, actively explored the model of “industrial alternation” and “order development”-driven industrial integration, and re-engineered the professional curriculum system. Twenty-two national and provincial awards were awarded, and the number and level of awards were among the highest in the province. There are six priority and correctional professions at the national level and six at the provincial level. 21 national and provincial quality resources. A total of 110 curriculum standards were completed, resulting in 10 professional teaching standards; 39 high-quality core courses were completed and more than 80 specialty school materials were published; and course resources were developed, focusing on quality courses, quality core courses, school-specific content, professional electronic resource bank, production issues resource bank。
The Institute has built in-school learning centres along the lines of “replicating processes, replicating the real world”, introducing them into schools, bringing equipment up to date with the market, establishing physical training bases and sharing mechanisms with enterprises, and strengthening the Institute's capacity for sustainable development, so that “teaching, training, research and production” “four-dimensional” talent development is effectively ensured. There are three hands-on training bases at the national and provincial levels, with a physical training area of 110,000 square metres and more than 200 out-of-school training bases。
THE ACADEMY HAS DEVELOPED A SYSTEM OF EFFICIENT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION SERVICES BASED ON A PLATFORM OF HANDS-ON TRAINING, SKILLS IDENTIFICATION CENTRES, PRODUCTIVE ENTITIES AND SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION CENTRES, IN A VARIETY OF WAYS, INCLUDING SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION, VOCATIONAL IDENTIFICATION TRAINING, SHARING OF QUALITY RESOURCES, FINANCING OF DISADVANTAGED AREAS AND SUPPORT FOR ETHNIC AREAS. THE INSTITUTE ' S RADIATION CAPACITY HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCED. THE CENTRE FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND SKILLS IDENTIFICATION IN TRANSPORT, THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT'S “SPECIAL VOCATIONAL SKILLS IDENTIFICATION STATION IN TRANSPORT”, FIVE VOCATIONAL TRAINING BASES AND THREE TECHNICAL TRAINING SERVICES FOR RURAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED, WITH A CUMULATIVE TOTAL OF 100,000 TRAININGS OVER THREE YEARS. THE SICHUAN HIGH SCHOOL CENTRE FOR ROAD TRAFFIC SAFETY, THE SICHUAN PROVINCIAL CENTRE FOR HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES, THE SICHUAN HIGHER EDUCATION RESEARCH CENTRE, HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED; THE SICHUAN COMMUNICATIONS EDUCATION INFORMATION PLATFORM HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR NEARLY 3 MILLION YUAN/YEAR, WITH 6 PATENTS; AND THE SICHUAN TRANSPORT EDUCATION INFORMATION PLATFORM HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO SHARE 800 G EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, SUPPORTING AND LEVERAGING MORE THAN 20 INDUSTRY AND REGIONAL VOCATIONAL COLLEGES。
The Institute is committed to the fundamental task of using the Litres as a vehicle for the full implementation of the Vocational Training and Vocational Development Programme for University Students, which provides a platform for students to exercise and improve their skills. At the same time, students are encouraged to participate actively in skills competitions at all levels and have received more than 200 awards for various skills competitions at the national and provincial levels over the past five years。
Scholarships at the College include: National Scholarships, National Remotive Scholarships, College Scholarships and Social and Enterprise Scholarships. Students with family financial difficulties can apply for State grants and study grants ***。
The Institute *** is socially oriented and has built up a wealth of employment resources, which is made up of State-owned, private and foreign-owned enterprises. The employment situation is good. The employment rate remains at more than 95 per cent, and employers are satisfied with their graduates at 96 per cent. Since 2005, the Institute has been rated for nine consecutive years by the Department of Education of Sichuan Province as the “Advanced Work Unit for General Higher Education Graduates of Sichuan Province”. Over the course of more than 60 years, nearly 60,000 specialists, management cadres, technical cadres and capable craftsmen on the transport front have been trained to work in the construction, production, management and servicing of the Sichuan transport industry, making an outstanding contribution to the development of transport in our province。
