Suitable for deck fire suppression on all helicopter platforms, chemical tankers, oil tankers, and bitumen carriers.
1. PHYM Series Stored-Pressure Foam Fire Extinguishing System
Working Principle of Stored-Pressure Foam Tanks:
Activate the fire pump to deliver pressurized water into the tank. When the tank pressure rises to equalize with the main pipeline pressure, the foam liquid within the bladder is forced by the pressurized water into the mixer pipeline. There, it mixes with the pressurized water at a predetermined ratio to form foam mixture, which then flows to the pipeline's end point. The foam mixture is then sprayed onto the protected area via a fire monitor or foam nozzle.
Foam fire extinguishing systems include fixed equipment such as ring pump-type extinguishers, stored-pressure foam extinguishers, and balanced foam extinguishers. The former mixes water and foam concentrate directly within the foam tank and is now less commonly used. The latter two mix water and foam concentrate in proportioning devices and are currently more widely employed on ships.
Internal Working Principle of Foam Tank
Maintenance inspections primarily cover the following points:
1) Testing of foam liquid compliance shall be conducted by specialized manufacturers or third-party entities.
If ineffective, refill with foam solution. The initial inspection of the foam solution shall be conducted three years after the original filling date, followed by annual sampling inspections thereafter.
Note: Clean the bladder before replacing the foam solution.
2) The service life of the bladder is generally 5 years. Upon reaching this service life, a leak test must be conducted to determine whether the bladder requires replacement.
3) Check whether the main control valves operate smoothly and freely.
4) After inspection, restore the system to its original condition.
2. PHP Series Balanced Foam Fire Suppression System
Working Principle of Balanced Foam Systems:
Start the fire pump, then start the foam pump. Firefighting water enters the pipeline. Subsequently, start the foam pump, which draws foam solution from the atmospheric pressure foam tank. The solution mixes with firefighting water at a ratio of 3% or the preset proportion through a balanced proportioning mixer before entering the pipeline's end section. The mixture is then sprayed onto the protected area via a foam monitor or foam nozzle.
The system maintains a stable mixing ratio, making it a preferred choice among high-end customers both domestically and internationally.
Maintenance inspections primarily cover the following points:
1) Foam liquid qualification testing shall be performed by a specialized manufacturer or a third-party entity. If found ineffective, the foam liquid shall be refilled.
The foam concentrate solution shall undergo its first inspection three years after the original filling date, followed by annual random sampling inspections thereafter.
Note: Clean all devices and piping systems before replacing the foam solution.
2) Check whether the foam pump is functioning properly.
Close the foam tank discharge valve and cycle the foam pump.
3) Check whether the main control valves in the foam system operate smoothly and freely.
4) After inspection, restore the system to its original integrity.
