In order to ensure the security, stability and confidentiality of the crew computer terminal examination, according to the "electronic computer room design specifications" GB 50174-93 and other documents and norms, the development of this standard.

(i) Venue standards for computerized examination rooms

Computer test site selection should avoid high-power generators, high-power motors, radio stations, radar, high-frequency interference, strong electric fields, strong magnetic fields and other equipment; should be away from high voltage, high current and corrosive gases, flammable and explosive substances such as storage sites or workplaces; should be away from high-decibel noise area, to ensure that the computer test site quiet. The area of the computerized examination room is standardized to be able to accommodate at least 40 people in one examination room at the same time using computer terminals for the examination.

The decoration of the examination room should be made of fire-resistant materials and should be dust-proof. The windows need to be fitted with curtains, and the sunlight should not be allowed to shine directly on the machines and equipment, so as not to affect the temperature control of the machine room. One or more cabinet air conditioners need to be set up in the examination room, and the temperature of the machine room should be 18 to 25 degrees, with a relative humidity of 40% to 70%.

Computer examination rooms should have equipotential equalization rings laid under the anti-static movable floor and connected to the building grounding system.

(ii) Standards for desks and chairs in computer examination rooms

Each examination table has a maximum of two seats, 160 centimeters in length and 70 centimeters in width, with a vertical spacing of at least 70 centimeters between tables and a horizontal spacing of at least 70 centimeters to ensure that examinees are at a distance from each other. Terminals, monitors, keyboards, and fingerprint readers are placed under the examination desktop to ensure the tidiness of the examination room. Transparent glass is used for the desktop.

(v) Personnel requirements

The computer test center shall designate a stable and responsible system administrator (network administrator), incorporating the quality system management of the maritime agency and the quality management system of crew education and training, complying with the relevant management regulations of the maritime agency, carrying out daily maintenance of the equipment of the computer test center, being familiar with and able to basically maintain the computer examination system (regular backup of the examination data, upgrading of the computer examination system according to the requirements, etc).
